5 Easy Steps to Reinvent Your Life

How to reinvent yourself?

One of the most legendary entertainers of all time is the one and only Queen of Pop – Madonna.  This reputation is certainly well-deserved, considering it’s almost impossible to count her accolades.  But one of the biggest reasons why Madonna earned the status of an icon, is because she mastered a mysterious psychological concept.  Reinvention.  Madonna’s legacy is proof-positive of the profound impact that reinvention can have on a person’s life.

How to create Self Worth and Self Confidence?

Always Improve on Yourself

Comparing yourself to someone as famous as Madonna might seem far-fetched.  But truth be told, even the most average of people is capable of benefiting from reinvention.  In fact, it’s even arguable that failing to reinvent oneself is a path to stagnation. Hedge Fund Manager/Author James Altucher suggests that reinvention is inevitable, because “Every day we are reinventing. A river doesn’t stay still. Every time you step into it, it’s a different river. You and I are that river. We either move forward or we freeze like ice.” Here are a few steps to follow in order to succeed at reinvention:

1) Identify Milestones

Reinvention is most effective when it corresponds to certain seasons or eras in life.  For example, choosing to reinvent yourself after every decade of your life expectancy, is a great way to adapt to the process of ageing.  Aligning reinvention with seasons helps people set clear transformational goals.

2) Experiment

Diving into change without testing the waters increases the odds of experiencing trauma.  Instead of leaping into reinvention as an urgent adjustment, ease into it with baby steps.  Being experimental is a good way to figure out what works, and what doesn’t.  And once you’re ready to change your lifestyle, the knowledge gained from experimentation will usher in a smooth transition.

3) Use the Right Motivation

Reinvention isn’t a ritual for the faint of heart.  Especially because sometimes reinvention comes with a lot of criticism and scrutiny.  If you’re going to make drastic changes to your life, make sure that you’re doing it for you.  Make sure that you’re doing it for the sake of your own peace of mind, and not just to seek attention.

4) Don’t Expect Perfection

Introducing any kind of change to one’s life always has unintended consequences.  You’re bound to make mistakes along the way.  But even so, don’t let fear of failure discourage you from trying to self-actualize.  Learn from your mistakes, and use experience to make wise decisions.  Failing is not fatal.  Not as long as you’re willing to turn failure into fuel.

5) Have Fun

Reinvention symbolizes progress in life.  Which is exactly why you should enjoy it as it happens.  Even though it might not feel comfortable in the moment, the journey of reinvention is worth celebrating.  It’s a chance to redefine your truth, and truly seize the day. Before any regrets cast shadows on your intentions, remind yourself that growth is a healthy part of life. Growth is a blessing.

Conclusion

Reinvention is a challenge which requires a lot of serious reflection.  It’s not enough just to renovate your life because you feel bored or stuck.  Rather, reinvention should be practiced as a meticulous process of soul searching.  It demands the courage to embrace ambition, the vision to dream big, and the sobriety to recognize that change is the only true constant in the human experience.  If you like what you just read from our blog, you’ll love the various informative courses, workshops and events listed on our websites and social media.
