Think Like a Farmer

Thinking is an important thing to do, it helps us to succeed, to stay healthy and work efficiently. But you have to think in a way that is actually providing some value. So, sometimes you have to look around and see what you can best learn and do.

If we look over farmers life, they only lives by what they grow. Their livelihood is tied to crops. Their needs are based on the crops they harvested. In fact, farmers are the true entrepreneurs and they can teach us a lot by their leadership qualities. They are doing efforts all the time, they don’t sit idle throughout season, hoping a few crops will pop up out. They actually work diligently toward the harvest. The patience level of farmers are high, they wait for crops to take root, grow, and produce. 

Here are some approaches that help to think like a farmer:-

1) Develop the Soil

At first, break up the soil and measure structure where the crops are going to go, put the plants and how to support them so that they grow strong. So, as a leader do some effort to create place to flourish. 

2) Plant the Right Seed

When it comes to plant the seed, it doesn't mean just any seed. You have to plant the right seed. If you don't , it's going to grow the wrong fruit. It really messes up how you think, what you do, your actions, your behaviors and after a while, your repetition becomes your reputation. Think like a farmer, be more intentional with the seeds that you're planting in your life.

So, your career must have clarity on what you want to do. Maintaining focus will help you do the things necessary to expand your experience and skill set.

3) Patience

Every seed produces at its own time, farmer show patience with a hope that crops will pop up out. In the same way it is important for leaders to practice self-compassion , and not to force themselves to achieve goals in unachievable timelines. 

So, if I want a fruit, I need to plant the seed accordingly. Take care of water, nurture it, protect it, because that's going to produce the results that you want. Afterwards, rest of your life is truly becoming the best of your life, because the seeds that you're intentionally planting, so think like a farmer.
